The three major components of a traditional fuel vehicle are the engine, gearbox and chassis, while the three major components of a new energy vehicle are: motor, power battery, and electronic control system. There is a reason why new energy vehicles are not equipped with gearboxes because they do not need them.   传统燃油车靠发动机提供动力，但是发动机的动力输出范围比较狭窄，当它处于低转速时没有什么有效的转矩，如果达到高转速区间，它的转矩又会下降的很快，而设置变速箱后可以调整发动机输出的力矩，低速挡位时能获得比较大的扭矩，有了变速箱后，它可以兼顾低速和高速，同时有比较大的轮上扭矩输出。   电动汽车的电机跟内燃机不同，它只要开始运转就能获得7000-10000转的转速，动力的输出比内燃机来得更快更猛，在没有变速箱的情况下，它仍然能够正常运转。所以说电动汽车是不需要变速箱的。   电动汽车不需要变速箱，如果非要给它加上一个，那就是画蛇添足了。当然，最早的时候，特斯拉尝试过使用变速箱，但是效果不好，还无端增加了几十千克的重量，于是也给取消了，现在的电动汽车也根本不需要变速箱。

On the phone, Mr. Zhu said that his car was not running, and the car could only drive slowly after it was locked.
